The Mission

Alternative worship gathering for communities in disaster and recovery.
7:30pm, Sunday Evenings beginning June 9.
As a part of the Motown Mission Experience, The Mission worship gathering will offer volunteers, members of Metropolitan UMC, and community members of the North End and New Center neighborhoods a chance to celebrate God together through alternative worship featuring the witness of the community. With previews beginning in Spring 2013, we hope that this new worship opportunity will use the best local artistry and liturgy to encourage people in their missional living.
- Music will be locally grown and a modern complement to the traditional styles Metro UMC excels at.
- Message will be an ongoing series exploring our calling to the City of Detroit as volunteers, residents, and friends.
- A Moravian Love Feast will give ceremony to sharing the stories of radical discipleship from those gathered.
All Are Invited
We invite all to attend. Special invitations go out to the Detroit Villages, those living in intentional Christian communities around the City to join us to share their stories of missional living. Also, to friends around Metro Detroit - anyone interested in our shared mission in the City are welcome to attend.
Thanks. We look forward to worshiping God together with all conspirators of goodness.
