Detroit Villages Villages Meetup!

Hello all,

This is a reminder and invitation for you and your housemates, spouses, etc to attend:

The first
DETROIT VILLAGES MEETUP!
Saturday, December 13th, 7pm
at 804 Barrington, Grosse Pointe Park, MI
(our house, not quite in the city, but we're working on it!)

This will be a chance for those of you who have been practicing intentional community, or who are interested in it to get together for food and fellowship.

We'll also take some time to discuss what the Detroit Villages relationship is, and how we all might partner around the idea of planting missional Christian communities in neighborhoods all over Detroit. This will include plans for our Detroit Villages Micro-Grants discernment process available to covenanting houses in the city who could use help with a ministry for/with your neighbors. We'll also have a book for each of your houses/villages from Robert Lupton entitled Return Flight that examines some of the issues around the impending return to city life after past waves of flight from the city.

We'll provide a simple soup and bread meal, feel free to bring drinks if you'd like, not required though.

In case this is your first email, please feel free to send me back a note with any questions you have. I was just thinking of anyone I've spoken to about DV in the past little while, and you were on my mind!
